A friend of mine mentioned something that reminded me of this story, so here it is.
Mrs. Thrombosis: "I didn't have a blood clot for eight years, so I stopped taking my blood thinner."
Me: "Didn't your doctor tell you that you'd be on it for life?"
Mrs. Thrombosis: "Well yes, but I figured it had been long enough that it was out of my system."
Me: "And now you're back with multiple clots in your lungs..."
Mrs. Thrombosis: "How long will I have to be on the blood thinner this time?"
Me: *sigh*
