Me: "OK, everything looks good here, I'll see you tomorrow morning."
Patient: "But it hasn't been 30 minutes."
Me: "Ma'am, this is a hospital, not a clinic."
Patient: "But I always spend at least 30 minutes with my doctor."
Me: "Ma'am, if I spend 30 minutes in here talking with you, I will spend 15 minutes writing in the chart. I do not have time to spend 45 minutes with every patient. I'd be here 15+ hours a day. We have covered everything we're doing on your case today."
Patient: "Oh, well you don't have to spend 45 minutes on anyone else. Just me."
