Patient: "Well, there's diabetes, cancer, and heart disease on my husband's side."
Me: "No, I mean family by blood."
Patient: "Well, I received some of my husband's blood in a transfusion one time."
Me: *sigh*

my brother in law always worried that he would have a heart attack in his 30's like his stepfather.My sister and I couldn't get him to believe that it doesn't work like that.Sure enough,just to prove us wrong,he died of a heart attack in his 30's.
that's about as bad as one of my patients coming in and telling me the suppository Phenergan isn't helping. When asking him how often he used it he mentioned he chewed up one about a couple hours ago. Made him sick to his stomach when he took it though. I had pretend that i had to leave so I wouldn't laugh at him.
