I don't have a lot of time while I'm at work to deal with phone calls, so I try and make them short. When a nurse calls us with a patient we don't know very well, they often give us a run through of their history so we can make decisions.
Nurse: "Are you familiar with the patient in 441?"
Me: "No."
Nurse: "Well, she's suffering from constipation..."
Me: "Miralax 17 grams, P.O. Qday."
Nurse: "...she came in with renal failure, has a history of diabetes..."
Me: "Miralax 17 grams, P.O. Qday."
Nurse (droning on): "...had an MI last year..."
Me: "NURSE!"
Nurse: "Huh? What?"
Me: "Miralax 17 grams, P.O. Qday."
Nurse: "Oh, okay. Thank you."
