Waiter?

Me:  "Anything else you need today?"

Patient:  "For lunch I'd like a BLT, hold the mayo, a glass of sweet tea with 3-4 ice cubes and a bag of sun chips.....aren't you going to write this down?"

I wish this was a joke. Unfortunately, that's the level of "service" patients really expect from all members of the health care team, whether MD, RN, CNA, or otherwise.

And she was on a consistent carb, cardiac diet, too, wasn't she? So you had to say no to the BLT and sweet tea anyway.

It's a very sad world we live in nowadays. People don't respect healthcare workers at all and everyone thinks they're entitled to anything and everything they want, when they want it. We have only the administrators to thank for these unrealistic serives. All in the name of "patient satisfaction." How about this? Don't judge hospitals on how good the food was and how shiny and happy the staff was All TIMES, but on things that actualy matter such as-not contracting an infection and getting the proper medications.
This makes me hate the world so much.
